Aikido is a martial art created by Morihei Ueshiba, with roots in jujutsu and early sword practices. Aikido blends the energies of both the opponent and the practitioner to provide an apex of power to redirect and diffuse potentially violent situations without necessarily inflicting harm.  Techniques include takes downs, joint locks, and throwing that originate from sword movement and focus on timing, centering, and balance.

Asahikan Dojo’s roots are based in Aikikai.  Asahikan Dojo has also integrated Yoshinkai Aikido concepts and movements to generate more powerful techniques to enhance flow and execution.

Asahikan focuses on the movement, connection, and blending on both nage’s and uke’s roles. Movement can be simple or it can be dynamic…each are equally effective.

If you are looking to experience Aikido, Aloia Sensei is available to conduct seminars, workshops or special classes demonstrating the many facets of this multi level art. Or if you are interested in becoming an Affiliated School, please contact the Dojo for more information.
